" cingulatores" have deep historical roots.

In the 13th century when blacksmiths were much needed for forging battle swords, knight armours, iron-barred windows & gates, adornments, locks
and door handles, their work gradually became also used for lighting purposes such as decorative torch scones, torch holders, and then for the early oil lamps.
" Cingulatores" along with jewellery makers and goldsmiths who decorated swords, belts and all kinds of armour suits were, already back then, able to process materials such as copper, brass, silver, gold and also precious stones.
In the course of time the first oil lamps appeared, afterwards followed by paraffin lamps, scones, and eventually,the early chandeliers appeared adorned with rigorously detailed ornaments hand-crafted by " cingulatores". Such rigorous craftsmanship has prevailed its level of quality up to this day.
After the spread of Bohemian crystal in 16th century, "cingulatores" with their craftsmanship were growing in popularity, particularly in Kamenický Šenov where I was born and wherein first lighting manufacture was founded by Josef Palme in the year 1724. Josef Palme's lighting manufacture was dominating throughout Europe for its remarkably exquisite lighting designs as well as its metal spinning, glass works, metal casting, and above all, craftsmanship of "cingulatores".Thanks to this manufacture Kamenický Šenov has become the heart of glass lightning design which prevails up to this day.
I finished studies as a " cingulatore" in 1992, and since the year 1999 I've established small business offering my crafted products. From the start of my business I've been approached by customers about projects as well as orders from both foreign countries and the Czech Republic.
"Cingulatores" have been forming integral part of modern building designs and period renovation.
